If you're looking for a great C8 at a reasonable price, this light is what you're looking for. This light has a black hard anodized finish, square-cut threads, and is one of the best C8s out there, at any price. The smooth reflector provides a tightly focused beam for maximum throw.
The Convoy C8 features a super-bright and throwy Cree XP-L HI emitter, and a reliable 7135 based driver. If you don't want strobe, no problem, you can easily disable it or enable it yourself (see below for instructions). If you aren't satisfied with the stock firmware, we also offer an upgraded firmware with lots of different mode options (see below - this option may add up to 7 business days handling time to your order).
This light works with flat top, button top, unprotected, and some protected cells. The Protected NCR18650PF & NCR18650B sold here all fit in this light. While the Protected NCR18650GA usually fits, it is very tight, so many are not happy using it in this light. Some other protected variations of the same cells may not fit.
guppydrv Firmware Upgrade Option:
If you aren't satisfied with the stock firmware options, we now offer this upgraded firmware on the Convoy C8. This firmware allows the ultimate in user customizability, with 22 built-in mode groups, that the user can select via a series of button presses and a user programmable turbo timer (see below for instructions).
User Selectable Groups:
To switch mode groups: rapidly tap the switch 8 times, the light will then enter the programming mode and begin to flash. With the light in programming mode, tap the switch the same number of times as your desired mode group. The light will blink and your mode group will be memorized.
Example: To select mode group 3, tap the switch 8 times quickly to enter programming mode. As soon as the light enters programming mode and starts flashing, tap the switch three times (for group 3). The light will blink to recognize the mode group change.
To set the turbo timer: rapidly tap the switch 8 times, the light will then enter the programming mode and begin to flash. With the light in programming mode, tap the switch 30 times to enter the turbo timer set mode. The light will then switch to 100% power. When the light is at the desired temperature for the turbo step down, turn the light off. The turbo timer will then be set. Turbo timer drops down to 50% output.
